Suncare Product Deals 5/20

Posted by Clare on May 18, 2012 in Uncategorized |

This will be my first summer couponing and I am excited to get some great deals on Sunblock.  It’s a neccessity and without coupons and sales it can be pretty expensive.  I am going to look around each week and try to post the best deals I can find.

Target
The deal is that is you buy 2 Hawaiian Tropic or Banana Boat items at $6.49 each you get a $5.00 Target gift card.
(1) $1.00/1 Banana Boat coupon
(1) $1.00/1 Hawaiian Tropic coupon
(1) $1.00/1 Hawaiian Tropic Target Coupon
(1) $1.00/1 Banana Boat Target Coupon
$8.98 for 2 or $4.49 each and you have a $5.00 gift card to spend on other items at Target

Rite Aid
Banana Boat or Hawaiian Tropic
These are BOGO Free and part of a spend $30 get $10 +Up rewards deal.
There were coupons in the paper a few weeks ago for $1.00 off 4oz or larger for both Brands.

The Banana Boat sunscreens are priced around $10.99 online so here’s a deal idea based on that.

(6) Sunscreen $10.99
Cost after BOGO $32.97
(3) $1.00/1 coupons
Cost $29.97
Receive $10.00 +UP Reward
Final Price $29.97 for 6 sunblocks or just $4.99 each and you have $10 to spend in Rite Aid.
If there are products for $9.99 you could get them for as low as $4.66 each by buying 4 @ $9.99 and 2 @ 10.99.  I would split into two transactions to keep the $9.99 and $10.99 products separate as they usually give you the lowest priced prodcts free with BOGO deals.   The $10+Up will print after the second transaction.
There is a limit of 4 times you can get the $10 +up offer and it will be running until 6/5/12

Coppertone $7.99 get a $2.00 +Up Reward
There should be a $1.00/1 coupon in the paper this weekend.
$4.99 each after coupon and +UP Reward.
There is a limit of 2 on this +Up Reward offer.

CVS
CVS Brand Sunblock 2/$10

Coppertone $8.99 get a $3.00 ECB
$1.00/1 coupon
Final Price $4.99 each after coupon and ECB

Shoprite
Banana Boat 1/2 price sale
$0.99-$5.49
The $1.00/1 coupon that was in the paper is for 4oz+, you might be able to get some of the $6.99 products for just $2.49

Stop & Shop
25% off most suncare products

Couponing at Hannaford. They said it couldn’t be done :)

Posted by Clare on May 18, 2012 in Uncategorized |

I love a challenge so I have decided to see what deals I can get with coupons and sales at Hannaford.   It is a lot more work to save there, but the store is closer, the staff are friendly and I like the look and layout of the store.

Some of the problems I have with saving at Hannaford are:-

1. The circular. It isn’t as detailed as the circulars for Shoprite and Stop & Shop so planning my shopping trips is a little more difficult.

2. They don’t double coupons, both Stop & Shop and Shoprite fully double coupons under $1.00.  This often means some free or almost free items.

Some of the things that I can use to save with Hannaford are:

1.  Their website has a searchable database of all the products and prices.  This is a good tool for comparing their prices with those in other grocery stores.  Sometimes the sale prices at other stores aren’t much less than the everyday price at Hannaford.

2.  Their website has a list of their current buy and save deals.  These deals will give you a money-off-your-next-order coupon at the check out if you buy certain items.  Using coupons along with these can get you some good deals.

So with coupons in hand I headed to Hannaford to see if I could pick up a few things for a good price.

Here’s what I got and what I paid.

(2) V8 Fusion $3.49
(3) Oscar Mayer Selects $3.79
(2) Alexia Sweet Potato Fries $3.19
(2) Kikkoman Marinades $1.99
(2) Skinny Cow Chocolates $3.59

Total before Coupons $36.09

Coupons Used
(2) $1.00/1 V8 Catalina coupons from previous trips
(3) $1.00/1 Oscar Mayer Selects
(2) $1.00/1 Alexia Fries Printable
(2) $1.00/1 Kikkoman Marinade
(1) $1.50/2 Skinny Cow

Total After Coupons $25.59
Received
$1.00 Alexia
$1.00 Kikkoman
$1.50 V8

I was hoping for $2.00 for purchasing the Oscar Mayer Selects but it seems they aren’t included in the deal.

Total after coupons and Catalinas $22.09

Saving $14.00

Using the current prices at Shoprite this trip would have cost me $0.80 more if I had gone there to buy the same items.

I will continue to check the buy and save deals of the Hannaford website and look for good match-ups to coupons.

One piece of advice.  The Catalina machine took a while to print my coupons.  I probably would have walked away without then if I wasn’t expecting to get them.  So take a few seconds to put your receipt away and watch the machine in case it prints a coupon for you.  It might also be a good idea to print the Hannaford web page that lists the buy and save deals, in case you don’t get the coupon you expect, I will be doing that in future.

The End of my CVS Challenge

Posted by Clare on May 7, 2012 in CVS |

I finally went over the $50.00 budget this week.  I was out of Pull-Ups and the deal at CVS was the best around so I had to take it.  I will still be shopping weekly at CVS and posting the deals here.  This challenge has been a great way for me to learn how the deals work at CVS without spending too much money and going crazy with the deals.  It takes patience to save at CVS but over the past 10 weeks I have saved over $300.00 (over 87%) buying items that I needed and treating myself to a few that I didn’t (nail polish :) )

Here is what I got this week and how much I spent and saved.

(2) Huggies Pull-Ups (reg. $13.49) Sale $10.00
(1) Huggies Wipes (reg. $8.49) Sale $6.00
(1) Revitalens $10.99
(4) Starbucks Refreshers $2.04
(1) Snickers bar (reg. $1.19) Sale $0.75 (not pictured, it was eaten before I got home :) )

Total Before Sales $56.61
Total After Sales $45.90

Coupons Used
(1) free Revitalens – Printed from the coupon machine in CVS as I had bought 2 previously, this took $14.19 off, I have no idea why.
(4) Free Starbucks Refreshers $1.99
$10.48 ECB from Prevous week

Total After Coupons $13.26 + $1.72 tax = $14.98

Received
$10.00 ECB Huggies
$0.75 ECB Snickers
$1.00 ECB 4th scan of bag tag

CVS Deals 5/6/12 – 5/12/12

Posted by Clare on May 4, 2012 in CVS, Uncategorized |

Here are some of the best deals you can find next week at CVS.

No coupons to print for this one, just pick up a bar of Mars brand chocolate, pay for it and get your money back in ECB.  Free chocolate is always a good thing, it’s just a pity they limit you to one.

There should be a coupon in this weekends paper making these free. They will probably sell out fast, so I always go into the store thinking of deals like this as bonus items. My ECB balances and deals don’t depend on them so I don’t feel too bad when I don’t find them.

CVS Deals 4/29 – 5/5/2012

Posted by Clare on April 28, 2012 in CVS |

Here are some of the deals in CVS this week.

Reviatlens is a good deal in CVS this week, especially if you picked up the free Complete a few weeks ago.  There is a deal at CVS right now where if you buy 2 Complete or Reviatlens you get one free.  I will be picking up the Revitalens this week for $3.99 after the $2.00/1 coupon and $3.00 ECB and I should qualify for a free one.  This will mean I managed to pick up 3 for just $1.33 each, saving almost $23.00

Colgate Toothpaste is also a pretty good deal. There should be a coupon for $0.35 off in Sundays paper making them just $0.15 each after ECB.

It looks like a pretty slow week for CVS. I’ll post any other deals as I find them.
